Genshin Impact’s popularity can’t be understated, especially since the most recent update introduced a breathtaking major region which is considered by many the greatest expansion players have seen so far. The game was released back on August 04, 2025, which means that it’s slowly reaching its second anniversary.
Recent leaks have revealed more information about some of the upcoming events that will arrive around the same date as the anniversary. A popularGenshin Impactleaker named naevis has apparently revealed an image that is related to one of the upcoming anniversary events.

According to the leaker, the picture might be related to a new sign-in event that will be part of the upcoming update. HoYoverse has already confirmed that the three first Sumeru updates will apparently be one week shorter than usual. The main reason behind this adjustment is probably the developer’s attempt to compensate for the three-week delay that occurred during 2.6, and get the game back on its old update schedule. Shortening theGenshin Impact3.0 updateby one week means that version 3.1 will arrive right on time for the game’s second anniversary.
The image portrays five iconic buildings players have encountered during their adventures through the world of Teyvat. Those buildings include the new Sumeru tree, Inazuma’s Tenshukaku, Mondstadt’s windmills, Liyue’s Ministry of Civil Affairs, and the fan-favorite Jade Chamber. Recent beta footage has already revealed thatGenshin Impactversion 3.1will unlock the second part of Sumeru which features a vast desert. A credible leaker named Genshin_Intel has given an overview of the upcoming update.
Fans seem disappointed that the overview didn’t mention anything about anew permanent TCG modewhich has been mentioned by a couple of leakers over the last couple of weeks. Multiple replies in the comment section claim that in order to keep its player base satisfied, HoYoverse has to do a much better job than last year when it comes to the anniversary event.Genshin Impact’s decision to reward players with a 7-day login event that gave players around 10 pulls was considered unacceptable by the majority of the community.
However, after a major backlash, HoYoverse handed out 10 additional pulls, a special glider, and some Fragile Resin. A number of players proposed an interesting idea for the anniversary rewards which includes allowing them to choose one freefive-star character from the Standard Banner. According to the recent 3.0 livestream,Genshin Impactupdate 3.1 should arrive on September 28 along with all the anniversary events.
